Gears of War 3: Too Many Modded Controllers?
Have you ever been in a match on Gears of War 3 and had someone shoot you so fast with a hammerburst you thought it might be a regular lancer, or something even quicker? Unfortunately this happens a lot, and though people will rarely admit to using a modded controller, the abundance of people I run into that actually have them is becoming ridiculous!
Of course those who do admit to having modded controllers will tell you that it’s ‘not cheating’. Well, what is it then?! If you’re confident that you don’t NEED cheats to be good at a game, then why not use the weapons as they were made to be used? This is something that irks me every time I play this game. I simply can’t understand spending 60 dollars on a game, then going out and spending anywhere from another 60-200 dollars on a modded controller just to ensure that you’re ‘good’ at said game.
If it were a single player game that you planned on investing a lot of time into, and you felt the need to get a modded controller, then by all means feel free to waste your money. But when you’re in a game with other people who don’t have the same controls as you do, and your controls just so happen to have an advantage then how is this NOT considered cheating? In my opinion it’s no different from cheating to get a higher rank or unlock perks such as on games like Modern Warfare 3 where people were getting an unlimited amount of Prestige Tokens. In fact it’s worse!
At the end of the day, people will continue to buy these controllers, and will also continue to blow playing legit. So, I guess it shouldn’t bother me knowing that someone actually sucks so badly at a game that they have to blow their money (or probably Daddy’s money) on a piece of equipment just to ensure that they score a few kills. I suppose I should feel sorry for them.
But I don’t.

you forgot about putting someone down and they get up so fast because of their modded controller. why don’t they put a governor on the hammerburst and snub? that’s the only weapons the modded controller is good for. when the weekend event featured the hammerburst and snub you didn’t see as many in regular online play. they should make that lobby again and maybe all those hacks will stay there.
I’m really f!>% mad at this sh!t! What’s the need of paying a gold membership with Microsoft (Xbox) and pay money for this game that I use to love to play online but you have modded controllers and modded 360 units and can’t do a damn thing. Really thinking of a first class lawsuit to Microsoft for allowing it’s members (us without the mods) to have to go through the motions that we all go through with the cheaters. Seriously considering
And most of us spend a lot of time perfecting the active reload. These controllers hit it every time perfectly. Miss yours once and you’re toast.
I can’t remember when I have played a game and everyone isn’t cheating. I say we sue microsoft.
I found something else out if your playing against people from overseas their routers are set faster than american ones.
I let my xbox gold membership expire, because I was tired of all the cheating. My DUMBASS bought a three month membership and nothing has changed, except everyone is cheating now.
