THQ Entering Free-2-Play Market Aswell

It appears Crytek is not the only company that plans to join the free-2-play market, because it appears that THQ wants a piece too.

According to Gamasutra “THQ also intends to enter the free-to-play market and make it a significant portion of the company’s business in the future, particularly with the next generation of home consoles.”, so it seems like we will be seeing some free games that are hopefully of high quality in the near future.

THQ hasn’t had the best year however after a complete reform maybe some good may be able to come out of the company especially with a bold new direction of free-2-play which has been proven to be sustainable. Previously Crytek announced that they would be moving to a free-2-play model aswell, with their first free-2-play game, Warface doing extremely well in Russia where it has garnered over 1 million players.
