Why Michael Ironside Isnt In Splinter Cell: Blacklist
During an interview , Max Beland, the director of Blacklist, explained the change of voice actors in Splinter Cell Blacklist.
The decision was mainly based on Ubisoft Toronto’s decision on focusing on advancements in performance capture technology, this brand new form of performance capture requires the actors to physically act out the scenes featured in the game while speaking their lines which adds more realistic animations and also offers more believable deliverance of lines. Sadly Michael Ironside is over 60 years old and the demands of the new performance capture technology is simply not realistic.
Therefore we now have a new voice actor in Splinter Cell, Eric Johnson.

Let him voice the VP in this game or a high ranking general or some other 4 echelon cell. but at least keep him in the game or franchise in some manner
A Voiceover would have kept us die hard SC fans happy no problem…. you cant just change voice actors like that…… Michaels voice was perfect for sam.
That is such horse shit. What the hell were they thinking?
Seriously, Ubisoft couldnt get Eric Johnson to act and let Michael Ironside to the voiceover? Simply BULLSHIT!!!
Seriously, UbiSoft couldn’t just let Michael Ironside do the Voiceover acting? Sam Fisher is like 60 anyhow? Bullshit Ubisoft…simply bullshit.
What the hell?!
But Ironside didn’t want to act Fisher.
He didn’t want to act Fisher In Coviction.
He said Fisher have no Individuality.
