Battlefield 3 Servers Are Not Shutting Down, They Are Being Rented
With the recent allegations that servers dedicated to console version were being shut down it appears that an EA representative has responded to clear up the situation.
Peter Van Nguyen, EA Games PR director, explained the situation.”If DICE-managed servers appear unavailable, it is because they have been rented and customized by players.”
“DICE will continue to add servers and will reserve a percentage of servers for players who prefer to connect through DICE-hosted servers,” Nguyen added.
So there you have it, all you console players will be able to rest knowing that more servers will eventually pop up and that older servers are not being shut down, they are just being rented.
