Zelda 3DS It’s between Majora’s Mask vs A Link to the Past

After Ocarina of Time 3D, people have wondered whats the next step for Zelda on the 3DS.

A few months after Ocarina 3D, Eiji Aounuma, the producer of the Legend of Zelda series, mentioned, after the rumors of Majora’s Mask 3D and the creation of Operation Moon fall, that while the game was being considered to bring to the handheld, he wouldn’t want two Zelda remakes in a row. And rather focus on a new original Zelda

And also Shigeru Miyamoto also noted that he would like to see The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past on the 3DS, and also he mentioned that he would like a sequel. That raise a lot of questions, and seem very out of the question, but with Miyamoto what he wants, what he gets. He also said that if it was a sequel it would be a director of his trust and that would really take the project with his whole devotion, probably Eiji Aounuma or Hidemaro Fujibayashi, or both.

But now Miyamoto in an interview with IGN, when asked about what is the next step for Zelda on the 3DS, he mentioned that Nintendo is deciding between the two projects, Majora’s Mask remake or A Link to the Past sequel/remake.

“We haven’t quite decided yet, whether we’re going to do A Link to the Past, because there’s also the possibility of doing a remake of Majora’s Mask. This is something we’ve certainly been talking about and doing a little bit of experimenting with, to figure out which way we’re going to go.”

“We have so many goals right now,” Miyamoto said. “We’re always looking at expanding our audience and giving people the opportunity to get their hands on 3DS and see what kind of fun gaming experiences they can have. And now, we’re also tasked with pushing the Wii U. So we have lots of good opportunities in terms of thinking about which Zelda game is going to be best for which purpose.”

So now it seems that Nintendo is choosing between these two projects. Remember that Nintendo did not worked completely on Ocarina of Time 3D it was Japanese team Grezzo with collaboration and guidance of Nintendo EAD and Eiji Aounuma.
