Microsoft Saw Onlive as a “potential acquisition target”
According to a 56 page leaked document Microsoft supposedly saw OnLive as a “potential acquisition target.”
On slide 7 of the documents it is revealed that Microsoft believed that OnLive could ”up-end the console gaming market by making expensive consoles and PCs unnecessary for AAA gaming.” especially if they managed to partner with AT&T which could give them the ability to provide subsidized hardware that would make money through game sales and subscriptions.
OnLive is mentioned under the “THREAT” Section of the not and is said to be a ”potential acquisition target.”
